APEDA sets up export promotion body to boost dairy exports
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Progress Authority (APEDA) has set up an Export Advertising Forum (EPF) to boost exports of dairy items and deal with numerous issues in the sector.
The EPF will augment trade and contain officials of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and Export Inspection Council, in accordance to APEDA Chairman M Angamuthu.
The authority has identified two clusters – Mathura in Uttar Pradesh and Banaskantha in Gujarat – to produce dairy items. Farmers and little dairy proprietors in these clusters will be provided digital teaching and aided in capacity making to come to be exporters, he instructed BusinessLine.
Moots money support
APEDA has mooted new money support for endorsing the export of dairy items. The Ministry also has the plan to produce infrastructure less than the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Progress Fund, which is component of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, Angamuthu claimed.
In this plan, investments by entrepreneurs, private companies, companies, farmers and farmers producers organisations are incentivised to create dairy processing, “value-addition infrastructure” and animal feed plant, the APEDA Chairman claimed.
